Off Track: Chili Crab Recipe


The Voyager is easing off on biking and running activities while healing strained intercostal muscles.
So I am reposting my recipe of Chili Crab to while away time.

Chili Crab


Ingredients:
1 kg Crabs, (about 2 pieces) cleaned
1 head garlic, chopped
2 pieces onions, finely chooped
½ cup Hoisin Sauce
½ cup Chili Sauce
25g spring onions
½ inch piece ginger, crushed
3 pcs siling panigang (green pepper), sliced across like rings.
½ piece medium sized red bell pepper, sliced into 1 inch long strips
½ piece medium sized green bell pepper, sliced into 1 inch long strips
Lemon-lime soda
Chinese cooking wine
Water
Cooking oil
Ground pepper corn
Salt
Sesame oil


Directions:
Steam crabs for 20 minutes or until done. Chop them into halves and set aside.
Heat up your wok. Place enough oil in your wok, wait until oil is hot enough. Saute the red and green bell peppers for 20 to 30 seconds or until the aroma comes out. Set aside.
Saute ginger, garlic and onions for about 1 minute, add a dash of Chinese cooking wine.
Add siling panigang. Add the chili sauce and hoisin sauce. Bring to a boil. Add Lemon-lime soda and water. Bring to a slow boil. Add sping onions, red and green bell peppers. Add salt and ground pepper to taste. Add a dash of sesame oil. Pour the cooked crabs and serve while hot.
